As OTA’s continued for the second day in Dove Valley, QB Paxton Lynch is focused on the learning process of the new offense with work ethic in mind…

As Day 2 of OTAs in Dove Valley kicked off, Paxton Lynch relished in the opportunity to get first team reps with the Denver Broncos’ new offense. The process of learning combined with a positive work ethic is helping Lynch develop into a potential starting quarterback.

Trevor Siemian took first team reps on Day 1 of organized team activities, but Lynch saw first team reps at Wednesday’s practice. However, the Twitter-sphere exploded yesterday in debate when 104.3 The Fan’s Mark Schlereth insinuated Lynch hit the showers first while others stayed on the field.

Local Denver media personalities jumped onto the forum to address Schlereth’s claim which refuted the extent of what was said. The Broncos had a lifting session following the practice.

Cecil Lammey of 104.3 The Fan was at Dove Valley for Day 2 of practice and cleared the air.

Generally speaking, the Broncos QB competition is the nationwide topic of discussion. However it is worth discussing that the position won’t be won in OTA’s.

Both Siemian and Lynch will get reps in OTA’s to learn Mike McCoy’s system. Training Camp will be the place where the microscope widens on both potential starters.

Denver7’s Broncos Insider Troy Renck discussed that the Broncos were happy with Lynch’s desire to learn, his attitude, and his work ethic. This report will help Twitter settle down in the constant debate of Trevor Siemian vs Paxton Lynch.

Both QB’s continue to work hard and push each other in competition. This is a positive indicator of the potential this team could have with both talents.

Writer’s Take: Paxton Lynch’s Development

Heading into his sophomore campaign, Paxton Lynch has to embrace competition and learning. Lynch has done both in the Broncos’ offseason program.

His 6’7″ height and athletic ability give him an advantage over Trevor Siemian’s 6’3″ build. Lynch’s intangibles appear to fit what McCoy’s system demands.

Areas where Lynch needs to improve are his footwork and decision making. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: Lynch and Siemian both will have to earn the starting job.
