The intrigue at quarterback doesn’t simply end with Paxton Lynch, Trevor Siemian, and Chad Kelly. The Denver Broncos made an intriguing move after the draft to sign a fourth quarterback to participate in OTAs and training camp while Kelly continues to recover from injury.
That quarterback is Kyle Sloter, the University of Northern Colorado product who had a wild and crazy road to the NFL.
Through a lot of adversity and unfortunate circumstances, Sloter wound up with the Broncos, so it wasn’t all bad…
At any rate, the young quarterback took the field on Tuesday afternoon with his teammates and ‘showed some flashes’ according to Andrew Mason of DenverBroncos.com. Those flashes, per Mason, included a streak of nine straight completions at one point.
There’s never really much to read into from OTAs, but it’s fun when players do well in the early stages of the offseason program. Sloter has excellent arm talent, athleticism, and could be a great player to stash on the practice squad for a year.
