The Denver Broncos have agreed to terms with first round draft pick Garett Bolles. According to Mike Klis of 9News, the deal is for four years and $11 million. The Broncos will have a team-option on Bolles for a fifth year (worth roughly $8.8M) — a benefit that is only available for first round picks.
With Bolles in the fold, the Broncos hope they have found their left tackle for the next 10 years. Bolles was the most athletic tackle in what was considered by many to be a weak tackle class. He was the first offensive lineman off the board as Bolles fell to the 20th pick.
Bolles, who will be 25 when his rookie season begins, has overcome a troubled past to get to where he is today. He played only a single season at the University of Utah, but showed enough on and off the field to warrant being the Broncos top selection in the 2017 draft.
Bolles is now married, and has a young child, Kingston. He made quite the scene at the draft as he walked up on stage to meet the commissioner, child-in-hand. This prompted a Lion King-esque scene for the ages.

Garett should have no problems providing for his family now. According to Klis, the deal includes a $6 million signing bonus—enough to set his family up for life. With great money comes great expectations—something the Broncos certainly have for Bolles. On the field, he fits exactly what they are looking for in a left tackle. He is incredibly athletic, as he proved at the NFL Combine.
The most impressive part of his game though is the attitude he plays with. This offseason has been about bringing an attitude that has been lacking for the past few years—nasty.
Garett Bolles consistently tries to put his opponents on the ground, similar to that of Free Agent pickups Ronald Leary and Menelik Watson. This line isn’t going to get smacked around as they have in years past. Bolles fits this mold to a T.
With Bolles now under contract, that just leaves DeMarcus Walker, Carlos Henderson, Brendan Langley, and Jake Butt left to sign. These deals should trickle in here in the next few days, as the rookie mini-camp begins Friday. Be sure to tune into Predominantly Orange for the latest updates.
