Denver Broncos agree to rookie deal with CB Brendan Langley
The Denver Broncos have agreed to terms on a four-year rookie contract with cornerback Brendan Langley, one of the team’s third round picks…
The Denver Broncos, working to sign all of their draft picks prior to their rookie mini-camp this weekend, have agreed to terms on a four-year deal with cornerback Brendan Langley. Langley was the 101st overall selection and the fourth pick for the Broncos in this year’s draft.
Langley is a 6-foot, 200 pound cornerback who obviously has excellent size but also flashed big time athleticism at the Scouting Combine with a 4.43 second 40-yard dash and 22 reps on the bench press.
That type of speed and strength will be a welcomed addition to the Broncos’ secondary after losing a similarly skilled player in Kayvon Webster, though Langley may be a bit more raw coming out of college than Webster was.
Langley is a former Georgia wide receiver recruit, someone who knows fifth round pick Isaiah McKenzie really well, and has played the last two seasons at small Lamar University. He transferred looking to gain more time on the field, and at Lamar, he got exactly that.

He didn’t play a lot of receiver after his transfer, but he did play some, and blossomed as a cornerback, flashing his excellent ball skills and showing great growth as a defensive playmaker in general over the past two seasons.
In addition to coming to work with the No Fly Zone, the third rounder will help immediately on special teams. Langley has excellent speed and explosiveness, and showed that as a punt returner in college, taking two returns back for touchdowns.
He was named an All Southland conference performer both on defense (six interceptions, seven pass breakups) and on special teams.
Langley will be an immediate contributor for the Broncos in the game’s third phase and with his aggressiveness and ball skills, he should become a favorite of special teams coordinator Brock Olivo right away.
