The Denver Broncos selected Ole Miss QB Chad Kelly with the final pick in the NFL Draft. I take a look and see how he can impact the depth chart.

The Mr. Irrelevant pick ended up becoming the third quarterback for the Denver Broncos. With the infamous 253rd pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, the Broncos selected Chad Kelly out of Ole Miss.

This selection was a bit of a surprise for me. I know the team needs a third quarterback, but I never expected it to be Chad Kelly of all players.

He is the nephew of Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback Jim Kelly for those who did not know.

Chad Kelly comes with a very high reward with very little risk. The biggest concerns for me are his off the field and character issues. But this could be a great spot for Kelly to land. He has a great locker room, great coaches, and a support system that can help him on the right path.

Another thing to be careful from him is his two ACL injuries he suffered. Hopefully he can spend his time strengthening his knees.

So, how can Chad Kelly, Mr. Irrelevant, impact the Denver Broncos depth chart?

Well, this year he will not make much of a difference. The consensus is that he will sit out the first year because he is recovering from his ACL injury suffered in November.

Trevor Siemian and Paxton Lynch will compete for the job this year. But watch out for Chad Kelly. He could shock us all within the next year or so.

He has a hidden talent about him. We will not be able to see it right away, but Mr. Irrelevant could be the most relevant player taken in this spot.
