Denver Broncos pick Carlos Henderson, WR Louisiana Tech
The Denver Broncos used the 82nd overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft to select Carlos Henderson, a wide receiver from Louisiana Tech…
With the 82nd overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, the Denver Broncos drafted Louisiana Tech’s Carlos Henderson. Henderson was the C-USA offensive and special teams player of the year in 2016 and is exactly the type of ‘juice’ the Denver Broncos’ offense needed.
Henderson racked up 23 total touchdowns in his final season at Louisiana Tech, and is considered one of the best ‘home run hitters’ in the draft. He has the ability to take the ball the distance every time he touches the football, and one of the ways he can help your football team is in the return game.
That will be music to the Denver Broncos’ ears, as they have struggled badly in the return department. Henderson is one of the best return men in the entire draft class, and had two return touchdowns this past season while ranking 3rd in FBS in average yards per kick return.
Henderson is known for his hands and his ability after the catch. Working from the slot in the Broncos’ offense, he will be extremely productive.
The Broncos have been desperately searching for a solution as a third option in their passing game, and this kid can finally be it. After using their top two picks on linemen (both sides of the ball), they get someone that can come in right away and contribute on special teams and in the passing game.
Matched with Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders, Henderson offers potential for the Broncos to put up big numbers in the passing game and creates even more problems in the red zone.
This is a pick Broncos fans will love and we’ll dive more into it as the night progresses.
