There has been much talk about what position the Denver Broncos address and for them they found their guy in the first round in Utah’s Garett Bolles…

The Denver Broncos selected Garett Bolles with the 20th pick in the NFL Draft.  Bolles was the best offensive tackle in the draft. An athletic freak at left tackle, the Broncos clearly made offensive line the priority in the draft.

Bolles moves very well for a guy his size and will continue to add to the theme of physicality on the offensive line. Only time will tell if they gel as unit, but the position got better with the selection of Garett Bolles.

Bolles is coming home to Denver where he spent his mission before attending Utah. Despite coming into the NFL at age 25, Bolles is talented and a sure-fire day one starter. The days of Russell Okung for a season are gone. The days of Ty Sambrailo starting at left tackle are gone.

The acceleration of Bolles off the line is impressive and the one trait he possesses more than anyone is a maturity that translates to the next level. He adds a the “play to whistle” mentality the Broncos must have to improve offensively next season. He learned plenty of tough lessons as a young man and his dream came true to be the Broncos’ first round draft pick.

There will be much discussion to Broncos drafting Bolles over Reuben Foster, but at end of the day the team did smart thing and selected a player at an area of desperate need. For those clamoring for offensive playmaking help, there are plenty of options in the draft still and it is just round one.
