Denver Broncos exploring trading up in the 2017 NFL Draft
The Denver Broncos have moved up in each of the last two drafts, and could be looking to do so in the 2017 NFL Draft as well…
The Denver Broncos are officially on full Christian McCaffrey watch as rumors swirl Thursday about the Panthers’ interest in Christian McCaffrey merely being a smokescreen and now this bomb from ESPN’s Adam Schefter…
Of course, the Broncos would have plenty of players they could look to trade up for in any scenario, and we don’t know how high they are looking to move up. Odds are if they are talking about moving up at this point, they’re probably looking at moving up a decent amount.
I think after the Bills and Saints with the 10th and 11th overall selections, the Cleveland Browns would probably be the top spot to look at for trading down with no. 12 overall.
If the Broncos moved up that high, it could be a play for Christian McCaffrey, Reuben Foster, or O.J. Howard. Those three players are undeniably some of the best playmakers in this year’s draft, all with top 10 ability and potential.

Because of the depth of this draft and the run on quarterbacks that is almost expected in the top 10 picks, the Broncos could look to take early advantage and invest some of their assets (two third round picks, projected 2018 third round compensatory pick) to move up and get the player they covet.
The Broncos could also look to involve some current players in trade talks, as they have done in the past. That would help ease the blow of moving some of their other assets in this year’s draft, but the expectation has been that with 10 selections going in, the Broncos want to end up with just eight in total.
That means they will do some maneuvering at some point or another, and it might as well be in round one to go and get the player you covet the most.
Of course, these talks are contingent on certain players being on the board. Elway has done what he had to do in the 2015 and 2016 NFL Draft to get ‘his guy’ and this year should be no different.
