Jeff Legwold Drafts OT Ryan Ramczyk in NFL Nation Mock Draft
By Tylor Walden
The NFL Nation Mock Draft is held every year shortly before the draft. Jeff Legwold, the Denver Broncos writer at ESPN, drafts offensive tackle.
There is no question that the Denver Broncos need a left tackle. There has been plenty of mock drafts that have the Broncos going with a tackle.
Jeff Legwold over at ESPN, along with the other 31 writers, participate in a yearly NFL Nation Mock Draft.
When it was the Denver Broncos’ turn to draft, Christian McCaffrey and O.J. Howard were gone. Both players could really help the offense.
But there is no denying that the line should be a priority. With that said, Jeff Legwold drafted Wisconsin left tackle Ryan Ramczyk with the 20th overall pick.
I was a bit surprised with this pick. Garrett Bolles was still on the board that could be better than him. David Njoku was also on the board, who can help at tight end.
I can understand going for an offensive tackle. But the biggest question is would Ramczyk be ready for training camp? He is recovering from a hip injury.
Hip injuries are not beneficial for any player. But for a player who plays on the offensive line, it will not be ideal.
It would have been more ideal if the Broncos did draft someone who would be ready by training camp. However, I suppose that John Elway would be taking the risk.
The Denver Broncos did host him for a visit, so it would make some sort of sense to draft him here. And it would make sense since Forrest Lamp was drafted earlier in this mock.
Next: John Elway not worried about Christian McCaffrey attention
But with so many better options available on the board, this move does not make a whole lot of sense to me.
I have no doubt he will be a solid option on the line, but there is too much risk with the injury.
