We have a trade. John Elway said he was not done fixing the LT spot, and this move will fix it in a big way for the next couple years. Jason Peters has been one of the best LT’s in all of the NFL for a long time. The Broncos like Garrett Boles a lot in the first round, but after selecting Foster in this mock, this is the backup plan at LT.
Word around the league is that Peters can most certainly be had. The Eagles have one of the worst cap situations in the league. According to overthecap.com the Eagles have only $1.6 million in cap space, not nearly enough to even sign their draft class. Trading Peters would free up over $9milionl in cap space for the Eagles, who also feel very good about their depth at the tackle position.
Adding Peters to the Broncos would add both veteran leadership and and extremely nasty style of play. A year ago, Peters was easily one of the best left tackles in the NFL. For 2017 alone, Peters is likely the very best option for the Denver Broncos. Here’s the film:
