Denver Broncos cornerback Aqib Talib, who has had his share of off-field issues, will not face discipline from the NFL for a 2016 incident…
The NFL has reportedly concluded its investigation regarding Denver Broncos cornerback Aqib Talib, who was involved in an incident with a gun in 2016. He will not be suspended in 2017 for that incident…
The Broncos have gotten a couple pieces of good news regarding their cornerback group on Tuesday, also exercising the fifth year option on Bradley Roby’s rookie contract. Both Roby and Talib will continue making life difficult for opposing quarterbacks, helping to form one of the best secondaries in the NFL over the past three seasons.
Entering his fourth year with the Denver Broncos, Aqib Talib has been nothing short of a superstar. There were times when I was watching him in 2016, and I thought that he had a legitimate chance at winning the defensive MVP award.
An injury slowed down his stellar season, but didn’t derail it by any means. Talib has proven himself time and time again as one of the league’s best cornerbacks, and not just in coverage but in run support.

There will be times when Talib will do something dirty that fans question him about, but he’s exactly the type of player that will go to bat for his teammates, and stick up for them on the field, even if it gets him into a bit of trouble.
The incident that is being mentioned here is certainly something that could have been a lot worse, both for Talib and for the Broncos. Whatever happened that night remains largely unknown, but Talib suffered a gunshot wound that required rehabilitation.
He was back in time for the season, and many feared he would face a suspension for his involvement, whatever that was. After extensive investigation, the league decided not to hand down any punishment on Talib, which was the right decision to make.
At least as far as what any of us in the public had been made aware of, there was nowhere near enough evidence to convict Talib of anything, so not even giving him a fine in this situation is pretty telling of what the search yielded for the NFL.
In three seasons with the Broncos, Talib has made three Pro Bowls. He was a major part of the Broncos’ 2015 defensive dominance, and he will return this season to try and continue establishing himself as one of the best in the game today.
