Christian McCaffrey Expected To Visit With The Denver Broncos Thursday
By Cody Roark
As the NFL Draft approaches, Stanford RB Christian McCaffrey is expected to visit the Denver Broncos tomorrow for a pre-draft visit…
Christian McCaffrey, Stanford’s elusive and dominant playmaker is expected to visit with the Denver Broncos Thursday, per Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network. While it comes as no surprise, McCaffrey is a legitimate candidate to be drafted by the Broncos in round one.
The NFL Draft is two weeks away and the media narrative has McCaffrey as a candidate poised to go in the first 15 picks. This would require the Denver Broncos to potentially trade up from 20 overall in order to acquire him.

Many analysts believe that the Denver narrative to Christian McCaffrey is large in part due to his father Ed McCaffrey’s career as a Bronco. My belief is that the media has been brainwashed into believing this angle.

Let’s not forget that McCaffrey should have won the Heisman Trophy two years ago rather than Derrick Henry. The media has a history of overlooking McCaffrey, and to him that is perfectly okay.
With Mike McCoy as the Broncos’ offensive coordinator I believe that McCaffrey can be a talent that is difficult to stop or contain. His ability to line up in the slot or outside makes him even more of a prolific player for McCoy’s system.
The Broncos are instantly better with McCaffrey on board. He draws enough attention where Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders can thrive.
Having more weapons on offense is a need that the Broncos lacked last season. The Patriots have revealed the blueprint for a great offense and that is to have multiple versatile, effective weapons.
The Christian McCaffrey Formula
Christian McCaffrey will spark the Broncos on offense and potentially in the return game. Denver struggled last season with returning punts and kicks.
McCaffrey possesses the qualities to be a dominant returner in this league. His ability to track the ball and make elusive cuts made him NFL ready as a freshman at Stanford.
Denver needs production out of the backfield and within McCoy’s system, and McCaffrey would thrive tremendously. The Broncos relied on Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders to make game changing plays, and Christian McCaffrey is a game breaker that can take the pressure off of those two a little bit.
McCaffrey’s frame and relentless effort demonstrate heart, something that the Broncos lacked from tailbacks last season. He will fight for the extra yard that he needs for the team to pick up the first down.
