The Denver Broncos are set to begin OTAs on April 10th, and 2016 first round pick Paxton Lynch is among the players who have arrived early…

While the saga of Tony Romo drags on like a slow, painful death, the Denver Broncos are getting ready to get to work in about a week. In preparation for that, quarterback Paxton Lynch is among those Broncos players that has arrived in Denver early to get to work…

Lynch has been working a lot in Orlando, FL this offseason with quarterback guru Charlie Taffe, someone he had worked with leading up to the 2016 NFL Draft.

Now that Lynch is in his second NFL season, his work habits have seemingly intensified. The Broncos are looking forward to developing their former first round pick, someone they invested a third round pick to trade up for in last year’s draft.

After Trevor Siemian started much of the 2016 season, it looks like the Broncos will open up the competition again in 2017 and let Lynch have a fair shot at winning the job. To help with his development, the Broncos added offensive coordinator Mike McCoy, who was with the team for a brief time from 2009-2012.

McCoy made it a priority to bring in former Oakland Raiders offensive coordinator Bill Musgrave to his staff as well, giving the Broncos an enviable brain trust on the offensive side of the ball, especially as it deals with the quarterback position.

Factor in the presence of John Elway in whatever capacity he desires, and it seems like it will be hard for either of these young quarterbacks not to make strides in 2017.

While Lynch is just arriving in Denver, Trevor Siemian has been in town rehabbing an injured shoulder all offseason. He’s been around the facility every day, and certainly having the experience he had starting last season gives him a bit of an edge. It remains unknown what sort of involvement Siemian will have in the first two weeks of OTAs.

The Broncos have their first voluntary minicamp starting April 25th. They are not allowed any on-field drills until then, per league rules.
