Christian McCaffrey, RB/RS, Stanford

The reasons for wanting McCaffrey in Denver are obvious, and we don’t even have to include the fact that he’s Ed McCaffrey’s kid.

McCaffrey is a phenomenal playmaker. He has some of the best vision of any running back in this year’s draft. What he lacks in power, he makes up for in elusiveness. Some argue that he’s not a ‘bell cow back’ and I don’t think he has to be.

While some running backs are going to plod for three yards a carry, McCaffrey is going to offer explosive playmaking ability every time he touches the ball, which is not only as a running back but as a receiver out of the backfield and in the slot.

Oh, and by the way, he happens to be the best return specialist in this year’s draft class. That alone makes him a great option for the Broncos. He’s worth a first round pick to this team because of the number of different ways he can beat a defense. The Broncos need his versatility.
