The Denver Broncos have one of the most talented rosters in the NFL. That should come as no surprise to anyone with John Elway calling all the shots.

In Elway’s tenure with the Broncos, they have been aggressive and active on the trade market, at least as it relates to the draft. You can always expect the Broncos to make at least a splash or two on draft weekend, and that’s because Elway is always looking to put together the best 90-man roster possible.

It’s not that other NFL general managers and decision makers aren’t doing the same, certainly. Elway and his trusted advisors are among the best in the business, however, at identifying needs, addressing them, and supplementing talent through the draft.

The Denver Broncos legend has had his share of bad picks, as does any general manager in this league. No one is perfect, and rarely do you see anyone ‘ace’ a draft class. For the most part, though, Elway has been great. He’s brought in Pro Bowl players through just about every possible way you can bring a player onto the roster. Whether a draft pick, undrafted free agent, unrestricted free agent, practice squad player, waiver wire pickup — whatever the case, Elway knows how to put together a very competitive team.
