The Denver Broncos are potentially in the market for a change of pace RB in the draft, and USF’s Marlon Mack could be a target…

The Denver Broncos need an infusion of speed at the running back position, and one player in this year’s (deep) draft class that could be a fit is South Florida’s Marlon Mack.

Predominantly Orange has also learned that Mack is among those who are expected to visit the Denver Broncos at some point in the pre-draft process. Mack recently had an exceptional performance at the Scouting Combine, following up on his college career where he ran for over 1,000 yards in three straight years with the Bulls.

Mack is an excellent change of pace back, one who averaged over six yards per carry each of the past two seasons and nearly reached the seven yards per carry mark this past year. He’s not considered to be a bruiser between the tackles, but one of the best playmakers in space at the running back position in this year’s draft.

The Broncos might be interested in Mack as a mid-round draft pick if they choose to spend their early-round assets elsewhere. Many mock drafts have the Denver Broncos taking a running back as early as the first round (Christian McCaffrey in most cases) and the value of adding someone like Mack is both as a runner and receiver.

If he’s available on day three, regardless of how the draft has gone up until that point, this is a player the Broncos have to consider for his ability to be a home run hitter in an offense. The Broncos know they are currently lacking in that department, and this kid could potentially be of help.
