Free Agency has officially opened across the league and many moves have been made, but fans seem anxious about the Denver Broncos lack of moves so far…

Last week in the NFL the free agency period began and many teams didn’t hesitate. For the Denver Broncos there was a strong need to acquire targets for the offensive and defensive line through free agency.

Players on the Broncos radar included Calais Campbell and Andrew Whitworth as being the most sought candidates. However, they signed elsewhere which caused a lot of questioning from Broncos fans on the internet.

I’m here right now to tell Broncos Country: take some deep breaths! There is no question that teams are making power moves in free agency. However, John Elway and the Denver Broncos are doing just fine.

Many fans are worried about the moves that Patriots have made without analyzing the value in the moves Denver has. In a span of three days, Elway has signed four pivotal free agents.

Denver Broncos Free Agent Signings

Domata Peko, Zach Kerr, Menelik Watson, and Ronald Leary have filled immediate voids after signing. Peko and Kerr will bolster the defensive line and provide much needed depth. Watson and Leary add strength to pivotal positions on the offensive line.

Currently, these acquisitions have strengthened the weakest areas on the field from last season. Leary comes from Dallas who had arguably the best offensive line in the NFL. Watson comes from Oakland who had a much improved offensive line and run game.

Watson missed all of 2015 with a torn Achilles, but contributed upon his healthy return midway through last season. Leary and Watson fill in positions at guard and tackle that need desperate renovation.

Denver also restructured Donald Stephenson’s contract, so it appears that Denver’s offensive line could be set.

Multiple NFL teams have already signed a number of solid role players and maybe a star. It’s not about the quantity of moves that are made, but the quality. John Elway has made some quality moves so far in free agency.

Elway has proven time and time again that he makes great deals with players that are cost-efficient for the organization. If a move doesn’t work out that Elway made, the cost of cutting ties with that player won’t hurt the team’s cap situation.

We talk about it all the time on Twitter: In Elway We Trust. I sure as heck do. John Elway wants this organization to compete for championships every year.

Things may be radio silent, but I guarantee you that Elway is working hard behind closed doors to maintain the formula for success.
