Vance Joseph, John Elway will address media at Scouting Combine
The NFL Scouting Combine is officially getting underway, and Denver Broncos head coach Vance Joseph will address the media, as will GM John Elway…
The Denver Broncos will be well represented as coaches and front office executives address the media at the 2017 NFL Scouting Combine, which gets underway this week. Vance Joseph will reportedly meet with the media earlier in the morning, with Elway’s presser to come in the afternoon, per Mike Klis.
What can we expect from these pressers? Well, it’ll be another chance to hear from Vance Joseph, who was hired as the team’s head coach in January. Since he was hired, we can only assume that Joseph and his new coaching staff have been working tirelessly with John Elway and the front office to start identifying specific players and strategies for how to get them in Denver.
There’s always something interesting to glean from these conferences, but we’ll have to wait and see if what Joseph says holds any weight. The Broncos are not going to give away their free agent wish list, but there will be something insightful to take away from whatever Joseph has to say.
As for John Elway, there’s a rule I live by and it’s that whenever no. 7 speaks, I listen.
Elway knows how to talk around topics, but he’ll undoubtedly be asked tough questions about Paxton Lynch, Tony Romo, the offensive line, and other important matters facing the Denver Broncos. Until Romo is released, Elway and any other executive besides the ones in Dallas can’t really speak about him, but it’ll be interesting to see how he reacts to questions.

There will be plenty of business getting done at the Combine this year. Unlike years prior, the Combine falls at a unique time that nearly crosses over with the legal tampering period and the free agent frenzy will commence on March 9th. Perhaps Elway will speak on what in-house free agents the Broncos are looking at bringing back…
As is always the case, our questions won’t fully be answered, but as close as we are to free agency, perhaps Joseph or Elway will give us at least some clear vision and direction of what the offseason plan of attack will be. Joseph has already talked about filling holes in free agency and adding icing on the cake in the draft.
Elway has typically operated under that philosophy as well, taking the best player available to him early in the draft.
We’ll keep an eye on these press conferences and keep you updated on what the top dogs in the Denver organization are saying.
