Secondary

This is the home of the “No-Fly Zone”. Not a lot of work to do here as this group somehow IMPROVED upon last season’s dominance. In 2016 the Denver Broncos secondary allowed a measly 185.8 yards passing per game, almost a full 16 yards per game better than the next closest team.

This despite facing the likes of Cam Newton, Andrew Luck, Matt Ryan and Tom Brady. With only Kayvon Webster looking at free agency, this position will not see a lot of movement as most key players are locked up for the next few years.

Youngsters like Justin Simmons and Will Parks showed promise as well, providing quality depth.

With no glaring needs and no big pending free agents, Denver will most likely only need to add some “project” type players in the later rounds of the draft and as rookie free agents.

Without question, the defense has become the identity of this Denver Broncos team. With key players like Derek Wolfe, Von Miller and Chris Harris Jr. all secured for the long-term it doesn’t look like that will be changing anytime soon.

Adding a few key pieces in free agency will only build upon the team’s recent defensive dominance and keep the window for a championship open for a few more years at least.
