Denver Broncos vs. Oakland Raiders: First Half Reactions
By Tylor Walden
The Denver Broncos trail the Oakland Raiders 20-10 going into the half. We take a look at the first half of the game here.
I am not sure what it is about the Denver Broncos and not starting off strong in the first quarter, but because of that the team finds themselves down 20-10 to the Oakland Raiders after the first 30 minutes.
The defense has been doing all that they can. But the offense has not exactly helped.
The first four drives ended in punts. Once the Broncos got a touchback on a kickoff, that drive ended up helping them.
Let’s take a look at some key moments from the first half.

Kapri Bibbs needs to stay in the end zone
The one thing that I believe has been hurting the Broncos offense is Kapri Bibbs’ inability to kneel on the kickoff return.
For the first three or so kickoffs, the backup running back decided to take the football out of the endzone.
Only one time, it worked to an extent. But the Broncos have been starting inside the 20 yard line.
Joe DeCamilis, let’s start at the 25 yard line, please?
First Quarter Continues To Haunt Broncos
In the first quarter for the Denver Broncos, the team only collected nine yards. That is a huge issue.
Trevor Siemian started the game missing his first few passes. Granted some of the passes were dropped, the way the Broncos started the first quarter is what led to the slow start and the reason they trail.
Broncos Wake Up A Bit
After the Raiders scored the first touchdown of the game, the Broncos offense finally woke up. A huge third down catch by Demaryius Thomas was perhaps the highlight of the drive.
The running game woke up a bit too with Kapri Bibbs and Devontae Booker helping the cause.
How did that drive end? With Trevor Siemian throwing a bomb of a pass to Jordan Norwood for a touchdown.
The Oakland Raiders will get the ball to start the second half. The Denver Broncos have been known to be a second half team. Let’s hope they can get back into this game. Go Broncos!
