Royal averaged 10.2 yards per catch in Denver, just a shade under his 10.7 career average. No matter where he’s played or who’s thrown to him, this guy just produces. He’s a very solid slot receiver and the Broncos simply do not have one. Drafting Cody Latimer in a wide receiver rich draft ahead of guys like Allen Robinson, Jarvis Landry, Donte Moncrief, John Brown, and Martavis Bryant really stings right now.

Emmanuel Sanders could be terrific out of the slot, but his talents are best utilized all over the field, and besides, there’s no one else who can play on the outside anyway. Royal would provide the young quarterbacks with a receiver who can get open quickly, helping chip away at the coverage leaning to the prize horses bracketing him.

If Royal is not available, Tedd Ginn Jr. or Jeremy Kerley could probably be had for next to nothing and they would still be an upgrade on whomever the current #3 is.
