Key Matchups to Watch

  • The Broncos offensive line vs. the Texans front seven; running the ball will be key to helping out Trevor Siemian and the passing game.  The Broncos need to get more push at the point of attack.
  • Demaryius Thomas vs. Jonathan Joseph; for all the talking DT has done about getting him the ball more, he needs to do more when he does get the ball.  This isn’t the 2013 Broncos offense. The touches will be more limited and DT needs to make a play.
  • Von Miller vs. Derek Newton; it hasn’t much mattered who has lined up across from Von Miller, he has wrecked them all.  Brock Osweiler doesn’t make the quickest decisions.  If he holds the ball, Von could add to his league lead in sacks.

Interesting Notes

  • The Denver Broncos have not lost three straight games since Tim Tebow was the quarterback of this team.
  • If the playoffs started today, the Broncos would play the Texans on the road as a wildcard team.
  • Head Coach Gary Kubiak returns to the sidelines after a one game absence.  Kubiak had to be taken to the hospital following the October 9th loss to the Atlanta Falcons and was diagnosed with “complex migraine.”  The coach has been told to get more sleep and will look to get this team back in the win column Monday Night.

Prediction

The Broncos defense will prove to be way to much for Brock Osweiler to handle in his return from Denver.  Osweiler is going to be sacked eight times, and throw two interceptions, and the Texans will fail to get the ball in the end zone.  In fact, they will only reach Denver territory three times on their way to two field goals.

The Broncos run game will be a point of emphasis. They will rebound in a positive way.  There is no way the Broncos were ever going to lose this game.

The Score:  Broncos 31  Texans 6
