25. New Orleans Saints (28)
This is how the Saints will have to win games—by outscoring the other team. Their defense is pathetic in every sense of the word, but nobody has ever questioned Drew Brees and the Saints offense. The problem is it takes north of 35 points for them to win a game, and Drew Brees and the offense aren’t consistently that good.
26. Indianapolis Colts (18)
The Colts had zero business losing that game. The Texans were absolutely awful for three and a half quarters, but that just shows you how poor of a team the Colts have put around Andrew Luck. There is no doubt that it is difficult to do when he commands the salary that he does, but there is also no doubt that they have made poor decision after poor decision when assembling the rest of the roster.
27. New York Jets (22)
After destroying the Bills in week two, the Jets season has gone from promising, to concerning, to bad, to absolutely, positively terrible. What happened to the Ryan Fitzpatrick of last year, or week two for that matter. The Jets may as well see what they have in Bryce Petty at this point, because the playoffs are simply out of reach at this point.
28. Carolina Panthers (23)
What a quick and ugly fall from grace it has been for the defending NFC Champions. It is unclear where it all went so wrong—perhaps not bringing back Josh Norman, the heart and soul of that secondary, was a far bigger loss than they could have anticipated. Perhaps the Broncos broke their spirit after the week one loss, a game in which the Panthers seemed to outplay the Broncos. In any case, this team would be very lucky to get back to .500, despite all the talent they have.
