Siemian Returns for the Broncos in Orange Rush Game at San Diego
By Brad James
“Orange” Denver Broncos fans glad that the team welcomes back starting signal-caller Trevor Siemian, who returns in an orange rush, to the lineup against San Diego Thursday? If not, they definitely should be.
Against the Atlanta Falcons last Sunday, a 23-16 defeat at Sports Authority Field at Mile High, reserve QB Paxton Lynch was too indecisive with the football.
In short, it’s fair to say that Lynch isn’t quite ready for the spotlight. This was because an underrated Falcons defense intercepted him and sacked him six times. They also limited the Broncos to 267 net yards of total offense.
With Siemian, who has had seasoning behind the now retired signal-caller Peyton Manning in 2015, the offense just seems better. This was especially true in a 29-17 win over the Bengals in Week 3. He is decisive and trusts his receivers completely.
It doesn’t hurt matters that tight end Virgil Green and tackle Donald Stephenson are back in the lineup. That’s as comfortable as Siemian could ever hope for things to be.
It’s strange that this is the Broncos’ first divisional game of the season, coming six games in. Nevertheless, the Chargers are 0-2 in AFC West play and another loss in divisional competition would, for all intents and purposes, end their season.

If the Broncos’ strong pass rush is able to get to Chargers signal-caller Philip Rivers, (now this is strange, he is 1-4 this season, but has completed 68 percent of his passes, 11 TD’s/3 INT’s, thrown for 1,469 yards), he’ll be seeing an orange rush coming his way.
This is because, as part of the NFL’s Color Rush tradition on Thursday Night Football this season, the Broncos will be wearing all orange as you can see here.
The weather should also be great for San Diego as meteorologist Sabrina Fein of San Diego’s CW-6 has it at 70 degrees and sunny by kickoff time, which is about 5:30 pm PDT.
Throughout the game, it will remain mostly clear with temperatures near 65 degrees.
Thus, the conditions will be perfect in what many call America’s Finest City. It looks like it should be a great time for the Broncos to get to 5-1.
This is your game thread and treat it accordingly. If Chargers fans come upon us, treat them nicely, the Broncos way. GO BRONCOS!!!
