The Denver Broncos are sitting at 3-0 on the year. They passed their first road test in Cincy. What stuck out to you the most in the victory.

I think the obvious answer here is Trevor Siemian, but since I’ll talk about him in the next answer, I’ll go with Demaryius Thomas. Thomas is a guy that I wanted (over Dez Bryant) in the 2010 Draft. I’ve always had a soft spot for him. He’s come a long way as a college receiver playing in the triple option, and playing his first full season with Tim Tebow.

But one thing that’s always stuck with him is the drops. It’s been something that has been haunting more so over the last two-plus years. Sunday, we saw a crucial fumble by DT that put the Bengals in Broncos territory, and luckily the Broncos defense is one of the greatest of all time and held Cincinnati to zero points on that drive.

We then saw DT have another drop late in the game when it was still close. But as we saw last year in the regular season OT, DT’s still able to make plays when it matters most, even when he doesn’t have an overall great game.

Right after that drop, DT catches a first down on a 3rd and 7. Then when Siemian decided to go for it all for the second time, DT, on 3rd and 11, was able to slow down just enough for the ball to drop into the bucket on a contested catch, putting the game out of reach for the Bengals. It’s these types of plays in the clutch that are why I will never give up on Demaryius Thomas.
