When the Denver Broncos and San Diego Chargers meet on Thursday Night Football in October, they will be sporting some pretty interesting uniforms for the AFC West Showdown.
Since last season, the NFL has worked with Nike to create color rush uniforms for the NFL teams that played on Thursday Night Football. Now, each of the 32 teams in the league will get a chance to showcase some new uniforms for their selected game.
The NFL announced that all 32 NFL teams will be wearing a color rush uniform for a select game during the regular season. The Denver Broncos will get to wear their selected uniform when the team travels to San Diego on October 13th for their Thursday Night Football game.
Let us take a look at the uniforms for the Denver Broncos. The jersey and pants will be orange as well as their shoes and socks. I personally would nickname it “The Orange Crush” uniform.

The lettering will be somewhat of a block form that is colored white with a navy blue type outline. But the most exciting part is the helmet.

The Broncos are going back to pre-1996 with the logo on their uniform. According to NFL rules, teams cannot wear different helmets during the season due to safety concerns. So, how can you look past that? Just remove the sticker on the helmet.
For this game, the Broncos will not be wearing the horse head on the helmets like they have since the team changed to the logo back in 1997. They will be going back to the big letter D logo with the horse in the middle.
This should please old school Broncos fans who liked the old logo of the past. The Denver Broncos have not worn the former logo in what seems to be a long time. The last time I remember them wearing it was on a Thanksgiving Game against the Dallas Cowboys.
Nonetheless, I am okay with the color rush uniforms. There could be some things here and there that they could have tweaked to make it a bit better, but nothing in this world is ever perfect.
NFL.com even named the Broncos color rush uniforms No. 4 on their Top 10 list on all 32 teams.
You can also preorder your own color rush jersey on the Denver Broncos Shop.
