2. Running Backs

(@Skriz24)

The running back stable for the Broncos is going to be very effective going against this vaunted Rams front seven.  C.J. Anderson will receive 12 carries, and rush for 76 yards and a score.  When C.J. comes out, it is Devontae Booker exclusively coming in as the second running back.  He has six carries in the first half for 32 yards.

In the second half, the third back in is Kapri Bibbs, splitting carries with Devontae Booker.  Bibbs is given 13 carries in the third quarter alone, and he rushes for 58 yards a touchdown.  Ronnie Hillman doesn’t make an appearance until midway through the fourth quarter.  Hillman’s place in the lineup shows that he is more than just on the bubble, but likely on the outside looking in.  Bibb’s good performance doesn’t do Hillman any favors.

In total, the Broncos rush for 196 yards, and two touchdowns on the day.  It is a very good showing for what is going to be the identity of this offense.  This is also very good news for the quarterbacks.  Whichever of the two young quarterbacks ends up starting will need a strong running game to protect them and limit the mistakes.  A strong game against a fantastic front seven such as the Rams gives great hopes for the coming year.
