Trevor Siemian came into the game and completed 7-of-12 passes for 88 yards, hitting some nice quick slant routes over the middle and making arguably the best offensive play of the first half.

It’s not tough to see that Siemian has the kind of arm strength you want from an NFL quarterback, but what about consistency?

If we could see this kind of throw by him on a regular basis, I think we’d be okay…

Siemian also had probably the best incompletion of the day, coming on a throw to Bennie Fowler in the back corner of the end zone. The ball was placed right on Fowler’s back shoulder, but great coverage and a tight window proved too much to handle as the ball dropped to the ground incomplete.

All in all, I think Siemian looked really solid. The Broncos didn’t play it safe on third downs with him and gave him some tough situations, throwing deep passes into the end zone to Fowler, Jordan Taylor, and Cody Latimer. Siemian had great chemistry with Latimer throughout, but wasn’t able to hit him for the deep score.

Siemian’s drives ended in a made field goal, a punt, another made field goal, and a blocked kick. I’ll be really interested to see if the Broncos give Siemian a chunk of first-team reps against the San Francisco 49ers throughout next week and even in the game next Saturday.
