Broncos vs. Bears preview: Quarterbacks the focus
Which players could break out from the second level of the Broncos’ secondary?
Kayvon Webster has been having a phenomenal camp in his fourth season with the team. The Broncos were hit hard by draft pundits all over when they used a third round pick on Webster back in 2013, but he proved at the end of last season his worth as a special teams ace and now he’s coming on as a defensive back.
With the status of Aqib Talib relatively uncertain at this point, Webster has a shot to earn some extra reps and should see some time with the first unit on Thursday evening.
Lorenzo Doss is another player that has made a ton of plays at Broncos camp, and is a guy with a reputation for taking the ball away. If you’re looking to place a bet on which Broncos player might lead the team in interceptions this preseason, the safe money is on Doss.
Justin Simmons has made the play of camp defensively for this team, plucking the ball out of Garrett Graham’s hands for an interception. The big, rangy, athletic safety figures to take the primary backup safety spot for the Broncos and is going to be a critical player for the No Fly Zone in 2016.
