Rod Smith

Perhaps the best wide receiver to ever play for the Denver Broncos, Rod Smith was one of my all-time favorite players as I was growing up and learning the game of football. He came into the league as an undrafted free agent and is in my opinion one of the best undrafted players to play the game.

Smith is the all-time leader in receiving yards, touchdowns, and receptions for the Denver Broncos. He has recorded 11,389 yards and 68 touchdowns on 849 receptions. He was one of the big pieces to the back-to-back Super Bowl runs in the 1997 and 1998 season.

Even after the departures of John Elway and Terrell Davis via retirement, Rod Smith continued his play, becoming the receptions leader in 2001. He hung up his cleats in 2007.

I believe Rod Smith will make the Hall of Fame at some point, but Broncos fans are impatient and hope to see this undrafted player complete the success he has had during his career with his bust in the Hall of Fame.
