Writers have to be unbiased when looking at the quarterback position. Mark Sanchez made some strides with the first string, but Trevor Siemian had the first real crack early with the number one offense at the beginning of camp. Sanchez made a 22-yard comeback throw that looked pretty yet would have some sloppy throws.

Paxton Lynch had the worse day of all three quarterbacks. It is important for a rookie quarterback to face adversity early in Training Camp. If anything, it is okay for a great offensive team to have a young quarterback manning the helm. Ben Roethlisberger and Russell Wilson inherited a team with a solid running game and terrific defense. Both quarterbacks shocked everyone and achieved an impressive winning record in their first season. Broncos could do that with Lynch, but he will have to do better than today.

The winner in today’s quarterback race is Trevor Siemian. Siemian is the biggest wild card in the battle for the quarterback position. He may not be getting the public notoriety, but Siemian is neck-and-neck with Sanchez. Siemian established more of a relationship with the wide receivers in camp today than the other two. It is important to note even though Siemian had reps with the number two offense, there were times Siemian was facing the top defense. That to me, would still quantify number one reps and Siemian shined the most among the three quarterbacks.
