Denver Broncos running back Kapri Bibbs is making an impression on head coach Gary Kubiak, while Ronnie Hillman seems to be losing favor…

Denver Broncos running back Ronnie Hillman injured his back at Sunday’s training camp practice, sat out Monday, and had the day off Tuesday. Apparently, he didn’t come out to Wednesday’s practice with the appropriate intensity, because head coach Gary Kubiak pulled him off the field in favor of Kapri Bibbs.

Wolfe reported on Hillman’s lack of hustle, noting that it appeared he was pulled for his effort and that Kubiak let him know about it on his way to the sideline.

The opportunistic Bibbs has been having a phenomenal camp, and Kubiak was singing his praises after Wednesday’s session, saying he was ‘really impressed’ with Bibbs’ work in the final drills.

Our Cameron Parker was on the scene…

This isn’t news for Bibbs. He’s been doing this all training camp…

The smart play for the Broncos might be to go with the guy (Bibbs) who has the most upside with that third or fourth running back spot. We know C.J. Anderson and Devontae Booker are making the squad, and the Broncos are keeping a fullback, so whether or not they keep both Hillman and Bibbs or Bibbs and Thompson remains to be seen.

What we know for sure is that Bibbs is showing out at camp, and making a case for a roster spot coming out of camp for the first time in his NFL career. He’s spent two years on the practice squad. Now might be his best chance to make it.
