The Denver Broncos entered today’s practice in pads for the second straight day. It adds a different dimension to practice when pads are on. Pads bring a team closer physically for coaches to get a better understanding of how tough each individual player is doing in camp.

Mark Sanchez may be the starter right now, but after seeing him three of the four days, it is understandable the work with the first string Trevor Siemian (most reps today) and Paxton Lynch (still needs more first team reps) have gotten in camp. Sanchez is not the overwhelming favorite despite what some might say: at least, in my opinion. Kubiak has stated himself the three quarterbacks will receive the same number of reps or close to it in Training Camp.

Malik Jackson filled a spot on the Broncos defense and now the team will need to fill in Training Camp. Adam Gotsis has been brought slowly and soon will be getting reps with the best defense in football. Vance Walker added depth to the line last year, as well as, Antonio Smith who gave more pass rushers on the inside than people could count. Yet, the loss of Malik Jackson to the Jaguars remains a huge question mark.

Broncos drafted Devontae Booker to add competition to a running back position that still could use the extra boost in camp. However, with Booker’s skillset the Broncos have found themselves in a bit of a quandary at the position. Kapri Bibbs is having a terrific camp getting reps with the second and third string opening the door for a possible roster spot this year. This running back position will leave a new back looking for a new home at the end of preseason.

After the exciting beginning to Broncos Training Camp, Jordan Taylor starts this camp the same as last year leading to speculation a wide receiver is on the way out or on the practice squad. The likes of a player making it to the practice squad are options for the Kalif Raymond and Bralon Addison. Both have had a solid. Broncos will have to make a decision how many wide receivers they would like to carry. My guess is six.

Let’s now get into the observations from day five.
