Devontae Booker

The running back situation behind CJ Anderson is fluid. Ronnie Hillman has a chance to be the backup again as does newcomer Devontae Booker and Colorado State Alum, Kapri Bibbs. Today, Booker took the first and second string reps in the last 30 minutes of camp. Hillman, Bibbs and Juwan Thompson were not present in drills as it was just Booker, Anderson and Andy Janovich receiving reps with the second and first string offense.
Booker has an Adrian Foster body type in the way he moves and jump cuts to avoid contact. Booker showed he can be an in-between runner, but it was light drills. He is recovering from a knee injury, but after the work with the ones and twos, the Broncos seem to unleash him sooner, rather than later. Booker has the makings to be a multi-feature back in the Kubiak system in the receiving game and the running game.
For Booker to make a name for himself early and into camp, he will need to show success in pass protection and special teams before making the leap. However, Booker may have already made that leap. Let us be clear though, it was light work with the first and second string. It was not full pads or contact.
