Safeties

Darian Stewart- FS

When it comes to Darian Stewart, I believe that he was one of the most unsung heroes of the 2015 season. He made his mark right away as he recorded a game sealing interception against his former Baltimore Ravens team.

Like the other Denver Broncos defensive players, Stewart stepped his game up in January as he helped the Broncos win Super Bowl 50 against the Carolina Panthers. During the postseason, he recorded 11 tackles, one sack, three passes defended and one interception off of Tom Brady.

Stewart becomes a free agent at the end of this 2016 season. It is uncertain if there are any plans to bring him back. But if he has another year like last season, it will be a very difficult decision to make.

T.J. Ward- SS

When I think of T.J. Ward, I think of the hard hitting safety. He is, in my opinion, one of the hardest hitting players in the league. And he completely fits the Orange Crush defense mentality.

Ward was relatively quiet during the regular season, but did make some big plays when needed. His biggest play was the strip sack of Teddy Bridgewater during the Week 4 matchup against the Vikings that sealed the game.

Ward is set to be with the Broncos for a couple more years, and he is one of the bigger pieces to the “No Fly Zone” defense.
