Running Back

1st String: C.J. Anderson

2nd String: Ronnie Hillman

As with the quarterback position, this projection is pretty easy to make going into camp. Like the situation with Paxton Lynch, however, I think the Broncos’ hope is that sooner rather than later, Devontae Booker can replace Ronnie Hillman as the team’s primary backup.

Hillman is the fastest back on the roster and led the team in rushing last year, but C.J. Anderson was the one that got the fat contract extension after testing the waters in Miami.

With Anderson and Hillman both returning, the depth chart will be changed only by way of performance, and Booker has to prove himself on the field in that regard.
