Devontae Booker

The Broncos absolutely stole Devontae Booker out of Utah in the fourth round, and when you watch his tape from the last two seasons, it’s not difficult to get excited. Booker is an exciting blend of quickness, vision, tackle breaking ability, and what gets me most excited is the fact that he’s a finisher.

He puts the ball in the end zone, and he does it in a variety of ways. Booker is a natural pass catcher, and if not for an injury this past year, he likely would have been a top 50-75 selection as opposed to barely getting picked in the fourth round.

His impact for this season will be dictated by him and him alone. If he steps up and shows that the NFL is not too big for him right away, then he will compete with C.J. Anderson for carries and third down duties. If it looks like the game is coming to him more slowly, then the Broncos have contingencies in place.

The hope is that Booker will be an early contributor, and a big factor in this team’s running game.
