Broncos Country certainly remembers February 8th, 2016.  This was the first day in 18 years that this proud group of people got to wake up with that championship feeling; to taste victory in all it’s glory.  It didn’t matter how tired we were from the late night before, we went in to work the next day as proud as can be, celebrating the Denver Broncos World Championship that was captured just the night before.

There are very few better feelings in the world for the great members of Broncos Country than realizing that this team that we get behind, scream for, ride with, and die with, had finally gotten over the hump; that the Lombardi Trophy was finally with it’s rightful owner once again, filling the trophy shelf at Dove Valley with number three.  Broncos Country is not ready to give that feeling back to another fan base, Broncos Country wants more.

The Denver Broncos have had an interesting offseason to say the least.  Some have called it tumultuous, others have deemed it brilliant.  Anytime there is turnover at the most valuable position in all of sports, there is going to be skepticism, fear, disbelief, and doubt.  The Broncos didn’t just lose one starting quarterback this offseason, they lost two.  The defending World Champion Broncos will return only 2015 seventh round pick Trevor Siemian, the same Trevor Siemian that has only one regular season snap to his name, a kneel-down.  The players they

brought in to replace the quarterback combination of Peyton Manning and Brock Osweiler are a career laughingstock, looking for an image rebuild, in Mark Sanchez, and a promising, but extremely raw rookie Paxton Lynch.  Can one of these signal-callers really be ready to take the reigns as the starting quarterback of the defending World Champions?

The offseason has been filled with some uncertainty, some joyous moments, and some downright contentious times.  There have been calls from many media outlets to strip it all down; that the Broncos themselves don’t believe they have what it takes to win another Super Bowl this year, so why mortgage the future for one player.  It’s not a government secret that Von Miller is currently unhappy with the way the negotiations to make him a Bronco for life, or at least for the next 3 years guaranteed have gone.  Is John Elway really prepared to let his best player sit out the year over one year of guaranteed money?  Does he feel it’s time to blow it all up?

Broncos Country is not ready for a rebuild.  When Elway took the job, he said some words that rang true right from the top down; words that Mr. Bowlen himself couldn’t have said any better.  “We don’t want to win now, we want to win from now on”.  There should never be a year in which the Denver Broncos find themselves in a tanking situation.  There is no reason to think that this fine team, as constructed now cannot get to another Super Bowl, and win it in even more dominant fashion, regardless of who the quarterback is.

Mr. Elway reached out to Von Miller this past weekend, perhaps to wish him a Happy 4th of July, but also to tell them that he loves him, and he wants him back.  His people are going to call Von’s people, and the Broncos are going to get the band back together to go out and compete for another World Championship.  This team isn’t about blowing anything up and playing for high draft picks.  This is a team that will constantly field a winner.  There has been no changing of the guard in the AFC West, make no mistake about it.  The Chiefs, and certainly not the team to beat in the division, or the AFC for that matter.  In fact, the Super Bowl Champs of the entire NFL reside right here in the Mile High City, and there are no if, and’s, or but’s about it.  The Broncos are still the Super Bowl Champions until they are not, and they are not ready to relinquish that title so soon.

This isn’t a rebuilding year, this is a year to prove that the 2015 Super Bowl year wasn’t a fluke.  This is about going out there, and making history.  It has been 12 years since a team has won back-to-back champions, and no team in NFL history has ever gone back-to-back-to-back.  Why not these Broncos?  You can’t win three in a row without two, so this certainly isn’t the year to call it quits; there will be no blowing this team up.

Von will get his long term deal before the July 15th deadline.  One of the quarterbacks will step up in camp, and prove they are ready to lead this team into battle.  This defense, hungry as ever, will come out with an even larger chip on their shoulder, and we all know how much they love the underdog role.  2016 is going to be a fantastic year for the Denver Broncos.  It will be just another year of proving the doubters wrong, and showing the world that this squad has the right stuff.  We, the proud folk of Broncos Country are ready to gear up in orange and blue, and do it all over again in 2016.  This storied franchise will have an even greater opportunity at hand in this coming season; a chance to cement their legacy in the history books as the next great dynasty in professional sports.  Forget the Golden State Warriors and their shiny new toy, this is about an All-Time great dynasty that Mr. Elway has built, and they dawn orange and blue.  September 8th is coming Broncos Country, are you ready for it?
