Denver Broncos training camp position battles — What will happen with the Broncos’ quarterback situation? Who will earn a spot on the Super Bowl roster?

The Super Bowl champion Denver Broncos are going to look a lot different in 2016 than they did a year prior, but this is still one of the strongest teams in the NFL. With so many new faces on the roster, the staff here at Predominantly Orange wanted to take a look at a number of the interesting position battles happening at training camp later this month.

The Denver Broncos are very fortunate at this position because they have the No Fly Zone and have some solid backup players as well. Barring any injuries, the two cornerbacks that will start are Aqib Talib and Chris Harris Jr.

At the safety position, Darian Stewart and T.J. Ward will resume the duties as starting free and strong safeties respectfully. If anything was to happen to either one of them, I will be looking for newly drafted safeties Justin Simmons and Will Parks to make an immediate impact.

I believe that the only big time competition will be for who will be the fourth and fifth corner backs for the Denver Broncos. Bradley Roby will solidify the nickel corner position due to his performance last year.

With that said, the last two spots at the corner back position will come down to three players. Kayvon Webster, Taurean Nixon, and Lorenzo Doss. I believe due to Webster’s abilities on special teams, he will most likely grab one of the final two spots.

This leaves Nixon and Doss. The winner gets the final corner back spot. The one to not escape would most likely be placed on the practice squad if they pass waivers.

Another big question that arises is would the Broncos carry 10 defensive backs on the roster? If they do, I could see them adding one more safety either with who they have on the roster already or pick up a free agent. If they go the route of a player that is on the roster, I would say Brandian Ross would be the tenth defensive back.

I really like the position that the Broncos are at on the defensive backs front. Barring any injuries, there should be no surprises here.
