The Denver Broncos have released a statement on cornerback Aqib Talib, who was shot in the leg at a nightclub over the weekend…
Denver Broncos cornerback Aqib Talib was shot at a Dallas nightclub over the weekend in the leg, and has since been released from the hospital with just some stitches. Talib fortunately did not get hit in an artery or a ligament, and will make a full recovery rather quickly.
The Broncos released a statement on the situation:
“We are in communication with Aqib Talib, who remains at a Dallas hospital for observation as he recovers from a gunshot wound suffered to his lower right leg on Sunday. He is expected to be released from the hospital soon, and we are glad he is OK and will make a full recovery.
“Our organization has been in touch with the NFL on this matter, and we will provide additional updates as appropriate.”
Broncos CB Aqib Talib is one lucky man. Bullet entered and exited his leg. Hit no arteries, tore no ligaments.... https://t.co/LgiFGJhDUg

We certainly aren’t here to tell NFL players what to do, but Talib is a lucky man, indeed, given the circumstances. There’s constantly bad things happening at night clubs in the NFL offseason, and while NFL players are free to do whatever they want to, it’s a wonder that so many guys keep going back to this dangerous well.
Talib has had a history in this league of getting in trouble, so many won’t give him the benefit of the doubt here. It’s easy for fans to simply want the Broncos to cut Talib, but that’s not happening. Talib’s consequence is already bad enough…
In addition to having a bullet wound, Talib won’t be making the trip with the team to the White House on Monday.
Update on Aqib Talib: He's expected to be released from the hospital Monday but won't be able to join the team for its trip to Washington.

Hopefully this is the last warning Broncos players need this offseason to put themselves in places and situations where this type of thing simply won’t happen.
