The Denver Broncos announced they have added veteran linebacker Dekoda Watson on a one-year contract. Watson will compete with Todd Davis, Corey Nelson…
The Broncos had a roster spot to fill after Toben Opurum failed a physical upon being claimed off of waivers from the New Orleans Saints.
Watson has played a lot of football in this league for a lot of different teams, most recently the New England Patriots. He suited up for both playoff games and a number of regular season games for New England, drifting on and of of the active roster throughout the year.
He spent the early years of his career with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, drafted out of Florida State in 2010. Watson had the best year of his career statistically with Tampa Bay back in 2013 with 42 tackles, two sacks, an interception, and a forced fumble.
He has the ability to play special teams as well as rotate in at linebacker. He’ll be competing with the likes of Todd Davis, Corey Nelson, and Zaire Anderson at inside linebacker for the Broncos.
