Could a team have screwed up an offseason much worse than the 49ers? The answer to that is no. They hired Chipwreck to come in and alienate players, they said they weren’t going to trade Colin Kaepernick, and then they let him go meet with John Elway and the Broncos. And then they said they might trade him, and then they didn’t because they are stubborn. After that they gave up valuable draft picks to move back into the first round, to select a guard, and not even the best guard available. These moves scream Trent Baalke, who may be one of the worst general managers of all time. No wonder Anthony Davis wanted nothing to do with the Niners. Good riddance.
