Jim Bob Cooter may be the greatest name I’ve ever heard, and he made HUGE difference for Matthew Stafford and and Lions down the stretch last year.  But in true Lions fashion, another Hall-of-Fame player retired way too early in Calvin Johnson.  While he had lost a step, he was still a player that needed a lot of attention from a defense.  It is hard to imagine Golden Tate will be as effective without Megatron on the other side.  Maybe this is the year that Jim Caldwell will finally show a hint of emotion, but probably not.  It will probably be a 6-10 finish for the Lions, and will probably spell the end for Caldwell who was inherited by the new general manager Bob Quinn.  I would like to see Caldwell’s face when he gets fired, it is probably the same face he makes every time Lions score a touchdown, which is coincidentally the same face he makes when Aaron Rodgers throws a hail mary to win the game, after a facemask penalty keeps the game alive the play before.  I don’t expect the Lions’ offense (or Caldwell’s face) to show any signs of life this season.
