Could the Saints be a playoff team in 2016?  Sure they could, they have Drew Brees, so they always have a chance.  But they still have a putrid defense, and not a lot of help around Brees.  The defense got a very nice addition with Sheldon Rankins coming on board in the draft, as he was the best defensive tackle in the draft, but that probably won’t be enough to get the defense back to league average.  The Saints are probably in for yet another 7-9, or 8-8 finish, and another year closer to Brees’ retirement.  If I’m Drew Brees, I may be trying to force my way out of town after this year for another few opportunities to win a Super Bowl.
