Jeff Heuerman, TE

The Broncos were confident enough in the development of Heuerman all of last year on IR (also one of the receivers who worked with Peyton Manning while he rehabbed his foot injury) that they didn’t really make any moves at TE this offseason.

The biggest additions they made were veteran Garrett Graham on a one-year deal and undrafted free agent Henry Krieger-Coble out of Iowa.

Heuerman was drafted in the third round last year with the intention that he would play a significant role, one the Broncos never really filled behind starter Owen Daniels and backup Virgil Green.

It seems like bringing back Daniels might still be an option, but the Broncos have a special player here in Heuerman. He’s a big, physical, in-line tight end prospect with strong hands and deceptive speed and elusiveness in the open field.

I think he’s going to provide the Broncos with a very nice upgrade at the TE spot this season and complement Virgil Green very well.
