The Broncos have selected Nebraska FB Andy Janovich with the 176th overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft.  Let’s take closer look at Janovich and how he fits on the Broncos roster.

The most important question has been answered. Will the Broncos use a fullback? To make it brief, YES! With the 176th overall selection in the 2016 NFL Draft, the Broncos selected Nebraska FB, Andy Janovich. Where does Janovich fit on the Broncos roster and what should we expect from him in 2016? Well, let’s take a closer look.

SCOUTING REPORT:

PROS

Smash mouth player. Willing to knock defenders off their feet.

Great special teams player.

Can play some H-back along with FB.

Great work ethic. Started his college career as a walk on before earning a scholarship.

Underrated running skills for a FB.

A player with an “old school” mentality towards the game.

Was a state champion wrestler in High School.

CONS

Wasn’t considered a good fit in many NFL offenses.

Not sure if he has a capable receiving skill set for the pros.

Has “tweener” size. Not a true size for a FB

HOW HE FITS: Janovich will be an absolute demon in Special Teams coverage and provide the Broncos with a true option at the FB position.  I expect him to get a couple of touches in every game in 2016 and will be an immediate contributor on both Offense and Special Teams. We’ve been speculating for months as to how the Broncos will address the FB position and with this move, that should answer any questions revolving around the position.
