2016 NFL Draft: Denver Broncos rookie quarterback Paxton Lynch will wear jersey no. 12 as he makes his transition to the NFL…
In case there was any doubt about it, the Denver Broncos’ top selection in the 2016 NFL Draft — Memphis QB Paxton Lynch — will wear jersey no. 12 with his new team.

No. 12 was Lynch’s college number, and is the number of some of the best quarterbacks in the NFL today (Brady, Rodgers). The Broncos just un-retired no. 18 for Peyton Manning four years ago so the future Hall of Famer could wear the number he’s become synonymous with, and John Elway of course has made the number seven synonymous with his name.
We’re hoping Lynch will make the no. 12 part of the great tradition and history of the Denver Broncos quarterback position, which will now see one of its most dramatic makeovers ever.
The Broncos are fresh off of a Super Bowl victory, and unlike any other QB situation before this, John Elway played out an incredible offseason’s worth of patience, persistence, and ultimately, he earned the grand prize of the top young QB he coveted at the price he wanted.

The Broncos were not about to give in to the demands of other teams or players, and when the rubber met the road, Elway decided to go with his gut and move up late in the 1st round of the draft to get Lynch. Lynch is meeting the Denver media for the first time on Friday afternoon, as the Broncos are set to make two selections on day two of the NFL Draft.
For those of you who are chomping at the bit to get a Lynch jersey, now you know what number he’s going to wear.
