First Round Draft Prospects that fit Denver Broncos
By Tylor Walden
Robert Nkemdiche, DT, Ole Miss
One of the many players that has been mocked to go to the Denver Broncos, Robert Nkemdiche is one of the top defensive prospects in this year’s draft. However, he ended his time at Ole Miss on a bad note after getting suspended for marijuana possession for the team’s bowl game.
The one thing that does intrigue me about him, according to his draft profile at NFL.com, is that he never really had great statistical production despite his pro-ready characteristics.
That in a sense is very interesting. But also factual. His numbers have not been at all stellar, but perhaps the Broncos staff could draft him and shape him to be a solid defensive player. All I see is untapped potential.
He is also the type of player you are looking for the defense in order to stop the run. He can wrap up the ball carrier with ease. Not to mention that he does have the ability to be productive in the pass rush. During his final year at Ole Miss, he doubled his quarterback pressures.
A lot of potential from this kid, but can he unleash that at the next level? Only time will tell.
