Tight End

George Fant- Western Kentucky University

Nick Vannett- Ohio State University

Not many visits here seeing as how the Broncos drafted Jeff Heuerman last season and have an up and coming star in Virgil Green. But with the release of Owen Daniels before the free agency period began, it will be key to have some competition.

George Fant is a prospect that I completed an article on some time ago. He played one year at the tight end position after playing basketball for the Hilltoppers. A basketball player converted to a tight end in football. Why does this sound so familiar?

He could be worth a look towards the end of the draft or as an undrafted free agent pickup. There is just something about basketball tight ends. We have had a player like this before. See Juluis Thomas.

Nick Vannett could have the opportunity to reconnect with former teammate Heuerman if the Broncos draft him. His ability to pass protect could be something that the Broncos could look at in the mid rounds if they feel he would be a good fit for Kubiak’s system.
