Sixth Round, 219th Pick: Temarrick Hemingway

The Broncos have high regard for Ohio State Jeff Heuerman, but they will look for competition among Virgil Green, Jeff Heuerman and the always cut Richard Gordon. Temarrick Hemingway out of South Carolina State could be an option in the sixth round if the Broncos chose to not draft tight end early.

Hemingway is a pass catching threat tight end at 6-5, 244 lbs who did not participate in the NFL Combine. Adding Hemingway to a Broncos team who struggled in the red zone would skyrocket his production and team’s production. Hemingway has ridiculous arms and reach to go get the ball at its highest point along with Demaryius Thomas. The route running and separation in space by Hemingway could be intriguing as Green is a terrific blocker in his own right, but despite Hemingway’s size, he has enough strength to make it as a run blocker. The key will be if he can be groomed in the NFL and given a chance. Comparison according to CBS prospect rankings is Ladarius Green. I will take that.
